Here is the specific SP I suggest for today. I will entertain friendly amendments to add other units (I am currently enamoured with
degrees Rømer). As regards what 802.11 meeting venues should be contractually asked to configure 802.11 meeting room temperatures to be: 18) I am happy with 18±1 °C (64±2 °F) 19) I am happy with 19±1 °C (66±2 °F) 20) I am happy with 20±1 °C (68±2 °F) 21) I am happy with 21±1 °C (70±2 °F) 22) I am happy with 22±1 °C (72±2 °F) 23) I am happy with 23±1 °C (73±2 °F) 24) I am happy with 24±1 °C (75±2 °F) 25) I am happy with 25±1 °C (77±2 °F) 2) I don't care and am happy with both arctic and tropical conditions 1) I don't care because I don't attend meetings in person 0) I abstain Pick one or more of 18-25, OR exactly one of 0-2. Thanks, Mark --

I have been asked for Fahrenheit values, so I've put together the following table to map degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit and other retro units, and to Kelvin for reference. Please tell me of any mistakes, or of requests for other units. Since one Celsius interval is nearly two Fahrenheit intervals, I suppose it should be ±2 for °F.
Thanks, Mark --

Hello, I've already been asked by more than one participant for this, so… Can we have a SP at the mid-week plenary re air conditioning, please? Something like (multiple answers allowed): As regards what 802.11 meeting venues should be asked to configure 802.11 meeting room temperatures to be: 1) I am happy with 18±1 °C 2) I am happy with 19±1 °C 3) I am happy with 20±1 °C 4) I am happy with 21±1 °C 5) I am happy with 22±1 °C 6) I am happy with 23±1 °C 7) I am happy with 24±1 °C 8) I am happy with 25±1 °C 9) I don't care and am happy with both arctic and tropical conditions 10) I don't care because I don't attend meetings in person [the °D or °Ré or whatever other retro unit equivalents can be added if necessary] The purpose of this straw poll is to decide what the consensus comfort range is (my guess is that it would be something like 22±1 °C) and then ensure that it is written into the contract for venues that they shall maintain the meeting room temperature within this range. Thanks, Mark (not joking) P.S.: Note that typically women prefer higher temperatures than men. Not sure how to handle this fairly, given the vast sex imbalance at 802 meetings! But in any case I think even men generally think the current settings are far too low. --
