All, (and thank you Robert and Stuart),
I remember Darwin very well, as a (really _the_) significant contributor to the 802.11 ARC group for several years. He was an inspiration to me to take over that group when he and Dave Bagby left our activities. I am constantly reminded about whether we, in ARC, would have interest in picking back up the “Component Breakdown” of the 802.11 architecture that he started, but left unfinished… As Dorothy says, it is based on his VERY patient explanations.

Darwin was exceptionally knowledgeable about the architecture and technology of the 802.11 standard, and

Dear IEEE 802.11 Members,
I learnt recently that Darwin Engwer passed away.
Many of you will know Darwin from his contributions to 802.11; he was active in this group around the time I started attending in the early 2000s. He certainly valued his time in 802.11 and was proud of the technology we produce. According to his wife Lily Yang he would often talk about his 802.11 days and his love of the technology, the people involved and their impact on the world.
My deepest condolences to Lily and the family.
