Hello Edward and all,

I would like to nominate Micky Mehta for the vice chair position of the 802.11bq task group.

Micky has over 15 years of product development experience in 60GHz band technologies.  He co-founded Blu Wireless Ltd, in Bristol (UK) in 2009, where he architected an 802.11ad compliant Digital Baseband & MAC SoC; and then successfully validated it for several use-cases included FWA.  Recently, at Pharrowtech BV, Micky is responsible for 60GHz WLAN product development and in that role, he has been promoting adoption of 60GHz band in UHR Study Group and then latterly in the IMMW SG, at IEEE 802.11 WG.  His brings a unique (and complementary) perspective, which should benefit the development of the new standard within TGbq and its adoption in mainstream WLAN products in the future.

Previously, Micky was an active participant in 802.11g standardization and 802.11n, where he contributed in the TGn Channel Model ad-hoc group.

Lastly, Micky has been working in the Wireless Communications industry for almost 30 years, and has been involved in 3GPP (WCDMA, LTE), Wi-Fi and WiMAX based product development.  His technical expertise spans MAC and PHY layer design and implementation.

Thank you,

Ming Gan
