I would like to nominate myself as secretary for the 802.11bt (PQC) working group. I’ve spent a lot of time working on 802.11 and would like to get deeper involved in the standards. And would like to take this opportunity to throw my name in the hat.

Subject: Re: [STDS-802-11] P802.11bt (PQC) call for nominations
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Hello,
With the anticipated need for two Vice-Chairs, I would like to throw my hat in the ring and nominate myself for one of those positions.
I have spent over a decade implementing 802.11, and more recently I have started diving deeper into active contributions, with a focus on the Post-Quantum Cryptography Study Group (SG).
In the SG, I have served as the group’s Secretary and also brought technical contributions. I found it to be a great way to grow and make a difference.
While I have not held an 802.11 Vice-Chair position before, I am eager to take on this new responsibility, to bring energy, focus and a collaborative spirit to the role.
Looking forward to seeing you in sunny Waikoloa!
Regards,
Alex

All,
With the anticipated approval of the
P802.11bt project (Post-Quantum
Cryptography), the task group is expected to start up at the September session. As you’ve seen, Robert has appointed me to Chair the group (subject to WG approval by
the WG).
With this email, I would like to
open nominations
for the other leadership positions
for the TGbt task group:
Vice Chair(s), Secretary,
and
Editor. If you are interested in any of these positions, please respond to the reflector
(preferred), or to me directly.
I propose to close the nominations at the first meeting during the September interim (planned for Monday September 15th at 13:30 local Hawaii time), and to hold the elections/appointments
at that meeting. My recommendation is for 1 or 2 Vice Chair[s]; if there is discussion about the appropriate number of Vice Chairs, that can also be held during this first meeting.
A reminder on the process:
- TG
Vice-Chair is elected by a TG majority approval and confirmed by a WG majority approval.
- The
TG Secretary is appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG majority approval.
- The
TG Technical Editor is appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG majority approval.
My sincere thanks to anyone who is willing to volunteer!
Stephen
