[STDS-802-11] Belgium: consultation on radio interfaces for 900 MHz and lower 6 GHz short-range devices

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,

On 3 September 2025, Belgium BIPT began a consultation on the draft decision radio interfaces related to short-range devices that seeks public opinions on the proposed update of technical conditions of short range devices operating at 900 MHz and lower 6 GHz band.

Of note is that
1) the proposed update re: 900 MHz is defined in accordance with Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/650 of 26 March 2025 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1538 on the harmonisation of the radio spectrum for the use of short range devices in the bands 874-876 MHz and 915-921 MHz.
2) the proposed update re: lower 6 GHz band is defined pursuant to Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/913 of 20 May 2025 amending Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1067 of 17 June 2021 as regards an update of the technical conditions for the harmonised use of radio spectrum in the frequency band 5 945 — 6 425 MHz for the implementation of wireless access systems, including radio local area networks (WAS/RLANs).

For details, you can refer to its proposed update in French/Dutch at:

The consultation deadline is 3 October 2025.  If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to prepare a submission, please bring a contribution to IEEE 802.18 no later than the meeting in the September 2025 wireless interim (i.e., 10:30am HST, Tuesday, 16 September) to review and consider approval.

Thanks and Regards,
Edward
