TG3 Merged MAC Proposal Executive Summary

During the November, 2000 Session of the 802.15.3, TG3 voting members unanimously approved the high rate wireless personal area network (HR WPAN) media access control (MAC) proposal based upon the merger of the Kinney, Parks/Gubbi/Davis, and Heberling MAC proposals.

The goal of the TG3 MAC committee is to integrate by July, 2001 these key MAC components into a unified, draft MAC standard which will address the requirements of a high rate MAC protocol capable of supporting both Isochronous and Asynchronous data exchanges in HR-WPANs.
