IEEE P802.15 WPAN High Rate Study Group (HRSG)
The IEEE P802.15 High Rate Study Group (HRSG) for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) is a Study Group (SG), within P802.15, with the charter of drafting a PAR and 5 Criteria for a High Rate WPAN. It also has a goal to provide a fall back mode which can interoperate with the proposed WPAN Task Group 1 (TG1) draft standard.

IEEE P802.15 HRSG GOALS
- Our goal for the March 2000 Plenary Meeting is to get approval of the WPAN-HR Project Authorization Request (PAR) and 5 Criteria, which was sent to the IEEE802 SEC February 5, 2000. We will also begin work on the Call for Intent, Call for Applications and Call for Proposals which was published electronically February 4, 2000. The March 2000 High Rate SG Agenda in MS Excel (39KB) is available for your review.
- The Study Group has agreed to hold weekly conference call meetings, Tuesdays 11 EST. These are working meetings. The call in data and agenda will be sent to the Stds-802-WPAN@ieee.org list server before the meeting. In general, the goals of these calls will be to prepare for the next meeting.
- Just a reminder, if you would like to receive email traffic on the High Rate Study Group activity, subscribe to the Stds-802-WPAN@ieee.org list server. If you would like to join this Public Mailing List please read the WG Instructions for the
E-Mail Reflectors. As new individuals sign on, we will attempt to carry their direct e-mail address for a few weeks to allow the server to be updated.
IEEE P802.15 HRSG CALL FOR APPLICATIONS & PRESENTATIONS
- Candidate contributions are requested by the IEEE P802.15 High Rate Study Group for Applications and Technical Proposals.
In addition the following, High Rate Selection Criteria for CFA/CFP, summarizes the selection criteria for the proposed High Rate activities within the WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) space. These criteria will be used (in conjunction with the PAR and 5 criteria documents) to communicate the scope and intention of this class of devices to potential users and manufacturers. It will also be used to evaluate the PHY, Protocol and Systems proposals submitted in response to the WPAN High Rate Call for Applications and Call for Proposals (CFA and CFP).
