[Detailed Description of Proposed Insertion, Deletion, Change]
In section 3.2.1.4.2, change "The Q channel component is a small, but
non-zero constant sequence, with value..." to
"The Q channel component is identical to the I channel component."
[Reason for Edit]
Using the same PN sequence in both channels increases the power in the UW by
~3dB over the
present scheme, and elimination of the small DC component simplifies
implementation for
direct-conversion or zero-IF receivers. Phase and time discrimination
ability is improved in the new scheme.
Since UW detection and discrimination is crucial for receiver performance,
especially in burst mode,
the 3dB performance improvement should be worthwhile.
