RE: stds-802-16: Published: Minutes of 802.16 Session #9 [Draft]
Phil,
I think it would be a good idea in general to start doing this. At
the 802 SEC meetings, all motions need to be on a slide that shows
the date and time, mover, seconder, and the motion. The vote count is
then entered on the slide. Sometimes these slides are handwritten,
but normally they are electronic. The electronic ones are entered
directly into the minutes and normally become the official record of
the motion. This helps to minimize questions of secretarial accuracy.
At your request, I have attached the slide of the approved Motion #5
to the minutes as Appendix E. I put in a reference to Appendix E on
the line where the motion is recorded, and I saved the file as
Document IEEE 802.16-00/20r1
<http://ieee802.org/16/docs/00/80216-00_20r1.pdf>.
If you don't want to bother downloading the new minutes, I can show
you that the Secretary accurately recorded the motion. The slide says:
>Moved that the 802.16 Working Group:
>
>Establish a common 802.16 MAC based on 802.16.1-00/01r4
>Require each 802.16 Task Group to define its mandatory and optional
>sub-sets of the common MAC
>Shall ensure backward compatibility and maintenance of the common MAC
>Shall strive to ensure forward compatibility of the common MAC
and here is the motion as recorded in the draft minutes:
>Motion#5, Brian Kiernan, 2nd not needed, Moved that the 802.16 Working Group
>· Establish a common 802.16 MAC based on 802.16.1-00/01r4,
>· Require each 802.16 task group to define its mandatory and
>optional sub-sets of the common MAC,
>· Shall ensure backward compatibility and maintenance of the common MAC, and
>· Shall strive to ensure forward compatibility of the common MAC.
