stds-802-16: Re: May 2003 Interim in Singapore

As you will see below, Bob Heile has invited 802.16 to join the remaining 802 wireless groups for a May 2003 802 wireless interim in Singapore.
At our last meeting, as we were considering a motion on a venue for our January 2003 session, an amendment was made to hold the May 2003 interim (Session #25) in Romania. The motion carried, so Romania is currently our venue for May, with Marianna Goldhammer as Host.
I any member intends to make a motion, at Session #21, to reconsider the previous decision regarding Session #25, please let me know soon (no later than Sept. 6) so that I can accommodate the issue on the agenda.

>Next May, 802.11, 802.15, 802.18, and 802.19 (and maybe the mobility group depending on their status) are planning to meet in Singapore for the interim. Cisco is the primary sponsor for the event, although we are involving iDA (Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) in Singapore and expect the Singapore government to show interest in the event as they are very keen on things wireless. We are also looking to potentially do something in conjunction with the WiFi Alliance (WECA) either just before or after. The target week is May 12-16.

One is the Raffles/Swissotel, which is huge and has more than enough space to accommodate a meeting of this size. The other is the Pan Pacific which probably not big enough. We will not need to decide until later in September after our respective interims.
