stds-802-16: reminder regarding Session #23
Sixteeners:
I'd like to remind you to make your plans for Session #23 on 13-16 January 2003 in San Jose, California, USA.
This is going to be an exciting session marking a significant change of focus. With our core fixed air interface work finally complete, we are now turning to the important efforts of developing the conformance test specifications. At the same time, we will be holding our first meeting on enhancing the WirelessMAN air interface for combined fixed and mobile use. The charter for this work says that we will be turning over a draft for Sponsor Ballot in November 2003. This implies that the work will be on a fast track and that the steps we take in January will be critical to our mobility project.
The proximity of the WCA Technical Symposium & Business Expo <http://wcai.com/event/ts9general.htm> should make for plenty of interesting interactions. When you register <https://secure.wcai.com/event/ts9_ieeereg2.htm>, you will be asked if you would like a free exhibit floor pass to the Expo. Session #23 registrants may also, separately, register for the WCA Technical Symposium at the WCA member rate.
Conference rates at the Fairmont Hotel are held through 28 December. You can reserve a room +1-408-998-1900 or 800-866-5577, mentioning the WCA.
Cheers,
Roger
