[STDS-802-16] [NETMAN] new Network Management Task Group calls for contributions

I have learned today that the IEEE-SA Standards Board's New Standards
Committee (NesCom) has recommended the approval of the two 802.16
PARs on NesCom's Early consideration agenda. I expect that both will
be approved by the full Board by 12 August.

The two PARs are:

*P802.16f ("Amendment to IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan
Area Networks- Part 16: Air Interface for Fixed Broadband Wireless
Access Systems - Management Information Base")

*P802.16g ("Amendment to IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan
Area Networks- Part 16: Air Interface for Fixed and Mobile Broadband
Wireless Access Systems- Management Plane Procedures and Services")

Congratulations to the Working Group, and thanks to 802.16's NetMan
Study Group (and its Chair, David Johnston) for drafting these PARs!

The development of both of these projects will be handled by a new
Network Management Task Group <http://ieee802.org/16/netman>. I am
pleased to announce that this group will be led by a team of three
very well qualified 802.16 participants:
        Chair: Phillip Barber <pbarber@broadbandmobiletech.com>
        Vice Chair: Changhoi Koo <chkoo@samsung.com>
        Vice Chair: Itzik Kitroser <itzikk@runcom.co.il>
The Task Group is seeking to recruit technical editors.

The new Task Group, in preparing for the expected approval of the two
PARs, has issued a Call for Contributions for each project:

        http://ieee802.org/16/netman/docs/80216g-04_01.pdf

Note the deadline for each of 20 August 2004.

Cheers,

Roger
