Re: [STDS-802-16] [STDS-802-16-MOBILE] [HARMONIZATION] Logistics for 8/19 telecon

Title: [STDS-802-16-MOBILE] [HARMONIZATION] Logistics reminder and agenda for 8/11 telecon
Itzik - as I noted in my email below, none of the contributions will be marked as consensus during the call tonight. For the contributions I have listed below, if everyone agrees that we can make progress via email, then I am fine not having a call. If not, the call will at least facilitate some discussions and hopefully points to harmonize.

Others (especially those of you who requested a telecon tonight) - please respond if you still think a call tonight will be useful. If not, I will go ahead and canecel the bridge.

Prakash,
Since we are currently in the comment resolution process, and have a lot of comments/contributions to review, I don't think that having a call today will be effective.
I prefer to have enough time to review the relevant contributions and then have effective discussion next week, having all information available.
In the meanwhile, discussions on the reflector can still be used to exchange comments/ideas.

Taking the experience of previous conference calls, I think that email discussion will still be more effective, since more opinions will be expressed and people will have more reviewing time.

I'll will not attend any meetings this week, and hope that no consensus tags will be given this week (since this situation may change following review of other contributions and/or the specific suggested ones).

Regards,
Itzik.

OK, we ended up with majority supporting Option 1 or Option 3. Clearly, we need to wait a bit longer for reply comments to trickle in before we tackle many of the contributions that have either been tagged as consensus or ones that are still being harmonized (like SHO/FBSS, MBS etc.). So here's what I suggest:

* Per Option 1, have a telecon tonight for folks to discuss contributions that that are relatively new. Specific contributions I have in mind are:

- Nextel.Contr.FastPagingand BroadcastUpdateIndication.ver3.pdf

- Short Data Burst Support for Sleep Mode MSS.pdf

- Fast DCD_UCD synchronization for sleep mode MSS.pdf

- Enhanced initial ranging and BW request ranging.pdf
Based on discussions, the group can determine if consensus is feasible. However, we will only make a final go / no-go decision on tagging them as consensus on Monday.

I may not be able to attend the telecon tonight so would appreciate if someone would volunteer to steer the discussions, take notes and publish minutes.

Telecon bridge for 8/19 (Thursday), 8 PM - 11 PM is as follows:
Dial In Number: 916-356-2663
Bridge: 2
Passcode: 5263580

* Have a second telecon per option 3 on Monday at 6 AM US Pacific time
Bridge details will be posted shortly.

Since we did not get through some contributions on our call today and given that some contribs are close to consensus but not quite (e.g. SHO/FBSS, MBS etc.), I propose we have another telecon during the weeek of reply comments. Alternatives are:

Option 1 - Thursday, 8/19 8 PM - 11 PM US Pacific time - gives more time to edit but perhaps too early in the reply comments process

or

Option 2 - Monday, 8/23, 8 PM - 11 PM US Pacific time - too close to end of reply comments period

or

Option 3 - Monday 8/23, 6 AM - 9 AM US Pacific time - probably a good compromise but some folks find this slot inconvenient

I would suggest that we pick option #3.
If you do not agree, then reply on the reflector with an alternate slot. No response implies agreement with option #3.
