[STDS-802-16] CBP-SG 22 June telecon announcement

Hi,

   The Contention-Based Protocol Study Group is holding weekly teleconferences, next on Wednesday June 22, at 1PM ET.

   Please send petere@ieee.org an email if you may attend and did not attend the previous one, so I can get the right size conference bridge, and spell your name correctly in the minutes ;-)

   The previous session discussed the 8 June telecon meeting and reviewed the draft WG11 CBP PAR and 5C (telecon minutes 802.11-05/604r0)
   Two documents created from the discussion are CBP-SG draft PAR, 802.11-05/565r1 and 5 Criteria draft 802.11-05/351r4

 If you do have a presentation you would like to give, please correctly format it and post on the 802.11 document server and send me an email. If you would volunteer to act as Recording Secretary and take minutes, please send me an email, so I can send you a template with the attendees information and the Guidelines for secretaries of 802.11(tm) groups. Directions for accessing the 802.11 document server follow at the end of this announcement

§ 90.7 Definitions.
* * * * *
Contention-based protocol. A protocol that allows multiple users to share the same spectrum by defining the events that must occur when two or more transmitters attempt to simultaneously access the same channel and establishing rules by which a transmitter provides reasonable opportunities for other transmitters to operate. Such a protocol may consist of procedures for initiating new transmissions, procedures for determining the state of the channel (available or unavailable), and procedures for managing retransmissions in the event of a busy channel.
