Re: [STDS-802-16] [MMR-AH-UM] RE: A new usage model

Dear Wang Haiguang and all,

I fully agree with the previous repliers' comments.
If you carefully look at the PAR, we are discussing only for licensed band
and wireless interface. Your Proposal is very interesting item to discuss
for relay system itself, but I am afraid to say that the proposed wired link
is out of scope in neither this AH nor WG. Please be sure that the TGj is
approved only for amending current specification and the goal is to enable
Multi hop relay feature.

I certainly agree with Nohara-san on this matter.

Further, I would argue that standardized specification of wired networking
is most likely out of the scope of IEEE 802.16 as a Working Group, even if
it is part of a collaborative wired/wireless combined network. The work
might better be suited for IETF, or we might be able to undertake it as a
joint project with 802.3. Not really sure about that. What I am sure is that

the 802.16 project mandate only covers broadband WIRELESS metropolitan area
networking and we would most assuredly encounter strong resistance from a
number of groups should we pursue wired network standardization.
