Hi all,
I have some doubts in network entry process and I
apologize for this long mail
Once the SS synchronized to the downlink and
learn the uplink channel characteristics the SS shall scan the
UL-MAP message to find an Initial Ranging Interval and this RNG_REQ message is
transmitted by the SS in Initial ranging contention
period.
Once the BS has successfully received the RNG-REQ message, it shall return a RNG-RSP message using the initial ranging CID. Within the RNG-RSP message shall be the Basic and Primary Management CIDs assigned to this SS.At this point the BS shall start using invited Initial Ranging Intervals addressed to the SS’s Basic CID to complete the ranging process. a. My question is what is meant by "invited Initial Ranging Intervals" as mentioned above. b. Once Ranging process is completed successfully,to my understanding the SS informs the BS of its basic capabilities by transmitting an SBC-REQ message,my question is whether the SS will use a Bandwidth request frame in contention period to transmit the SBC_REQ message or it transmits in the initial ranging contention period. Please clarify my doubts Thanks in advance vasanth
