802.16 participants, As you should be aware, the Revision PAR has now been
approved. And has been discussed during the last few 802.16 meetings, a
consolidation document is being drafted by a contract editor for IEEE. This document
will merge 802.16-2004 with 802.16e-2005 (which includes 802.16-2004/Cor1-2005)
and 802.16f-2005. This document is expected to be
available within a week if not sooner. Ultimately this document will be
used to develop the revision draft. During the Maintenance Task Group report at the
802.16 closing plenary in Orlando, I mentioned that a core team of reviewers is
being put together a to check over the document and
make sure everything was done correctly editorially, and also to address
questions and comments coming from the editor. Itzik Kitroser has been
good enough to volunteer to lead that work. I also asked for volunteers
to join this team. Note that this work will not involve technical work. Technical
issues will have to be addressed in the development process for the Revision
project, itself. Also note that there will be a call for comments on the
consolidation document to give the opportunity for anyone to comment on it. The
purpose of this core group is to guarantee that this document has been reviewed
in systematic detail. Currently, we have 6 volunteers in this team, and we are
seeking for 3 or 4 more. In particular, we would like to have people with
either PHY or security knowledge. So I would like to call for additional volunteers for this
team. If you are interested, please inform Itzik (itzikk@runcom.co.il)
and/or me (jlabs@wavesat.com) by April
