Subject: [STDS-802-16] Announcement of the opening of the IEEE 802.16Rev2 boards on dot16.org/forum

All,

I would like to announce the existence of forum boards that have been set up for discussions on the development of the 802.16Rev2 project.  If you go to

<http://dot16.org/forum/>

You will find boards on a number of topics under the category <IEEE 802.16Rev2>, specifically topics on

  • Reorganization
  • Feature reduction
  • Duplexing
  • Profiles
  • PHY
  • MAC
  • Convergence sublayers
  • Security
  • Miscellaneous

The intent of this forum is to provide outside the 802.16 sessions a means of socialization within the 802.16 community, for both members and non-members, on topics related to the Rev2 project.  Ideally, as Task Group Chair, I would like to see a level of harmonization develop on these boards, particularly on issues that people know will lead to technically binding comments on the Rev2 ballot.  Such activity will aid us in making more efficient use of our actually meeting time during the sessions.

If you do not have a user id on the dot16.org forum, you can set that up here:

<http://dot16.org/forum/index.php?action=register>

P802.16Rev2/D1 is a large document, and I think there will be a large number of issues various members will want to raise.  Let’s get started with the work on the Rev2 forum.
