As you may be aware, the IETF HOKEY WG has completed WG
last call on
the document "EAP Extensions for EAP Re-authentication Protocol
(ERP)":

It is expected that the document will go to IETF last call soon.
Since this document extends EAP to support fast re-authentication in
way that is EAP method (and media) independent, it is likely to be of
interest to IEEE 802.16.
