Avi, In your spreadsheet you identify that
contributions 1241, 1242 and 1243 have ‘Wrong identifier in the Re field’. I do not believe the content of the Re: field in
these contributions to be in error. The Call for Contributions and Comments IEEE
802.16m-08/040 does not require nor specify specific content in the Re: field
for contributions. However, the 802.16 contribution template does
require for the Re: field: Cite the specific
document number of the appropriate Call for Contributions, the ballot number,
etc. Contributions that are not responsive to this section of the template, may
be refused or assigned a low priority for review. And the Re: field for these contributions
identifies both the general topical area of concern for the material and the
specific Call for Comments they address: ‘Re: MAC:
Data/Control Plane; in response to the TGm Call for Contributions and Comments
802.16m-08/040 for Session 58’ Please note that IEEE is not required as part of
the document name in the Re: field in order to disambiguate the document
referenced, nor is it required by the IEEE. Your identification that the Re: field is in
error is itself, in error. I would appreciate if we focus our efforts to
enforce proper submittal formatting discipline to areas where the failure
causes specific harm, rather than just nitpicking over minutiae the does not cause
harm. While I and the membership very much appreciate
all of the effort you make to compile such useful compilation spreadsheet, forcing
Members to re-submit contributions because they don’t put IEEE in front
of the DCN in the Re: field is unnecessary and unproductive. Thanks, Phil From: Avi Freedman
[mailto:avif@HEXAGONLTD.COM] Dear
all, The
list of contributions, received so far was uploaded to the temp directory: http://dot16.org/ul//upload/temp_db/TGmContributions58_Dallas_2008_11_04.xls The
lines with the red font are for those contributions that do not conform to IEEE
802.16 submission templates, or to the instructions in the relevant CfC.
Authors, please correct and resubmit (and be careful to match the filename and
revision number) There
are also contributions marked with red background: Contribution
C802.16m-08/1149: This is a number used by another contributor, for
another document in session 57. This creates a problem of a double number. Contributions
S802.16m-08/1259 and S802.16m-08/1260 are not the slide presentations of
contributions C802.16m-08/1259 and C802.16m-08/1260 respectively, but rather
independent contributions by other authors. The
files will be treated, as decided by Roger. Probably deleted from the upload
directory. Best
Regards Avi
