2nd MEETING INFORMATION UPDATE

To All IEEE-802 Members & Attendees:

The March 2009 IEEE-802 LMSC Plenary Session will be held at the Hyatt
Regency and Fairmont Hotels in Vancouver, BC Canada during the week of
March 8-13, 2009.

This announcement contains updates for the March 2009 IEEE 802 Plenary
Session:
* Plenary Session Registration information for the March Plenary
* Hotel reservation information
* Visitors to Canada Information
* Transportation Options and Visitors Information
* Information on rental-car group discounts available for IEEE 802
attendees.  

Session Registration:  Any individual who attends any part of a meeting
that is a scheduled part of an IEEE-802 Plenary Session must register
for the full session.  Registration is available by credit card payment
through a secure website or On-Site at the IEEE-802 Registration Desk.
Session registrations are not transferable to another individual or
another IEEE-802 plenary session.  If you web register for an IEEE-802
session and then are unable to attend, you must request cancellation of
your registration before the final cancellation deadline to be eligible
for a full or partial refund of fees paid.  See detailed info on
Registration/Cancellation on the web portal.

Note:  If you are not able to register via the web for technical
reasons, you must notify the 802 Conference Organizers of your problem
prior to the cut off date in order to preserve your eligibility to

Arriving in Canada
When you arrive in Canada, you will be greeted by an officer of the
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).  The CBSA is responsible for
protecting the borders and points of entry to Canada.  The CBSA officer
will ask you the purpose of your visit and confirm that you meet the
requirements for admission to Canada.  This is standard for anyone
entering Canada, whether you have a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or
not.  

You should have all relevant documents on hand to present to the CBSA
officer when you arrive.  These documents include, but are not limited
to:
* a valid Passport or travel document that will be valid until the end
of your stay
* if applicable, a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)



Transportation Services to and from the Airport: you have options !!!

(2) Limousine (estimated cost one way - $39.00 CAD per vehicle)
(3) YVR Airporter Shuttle: Shared Ride Transfer (starting at $13.50 CAD

TAXIS - Taxis are readily available outside both the Domestic and
International terminals.
* All taxi vehicles serving YVR are 7 years old or newer, and drivers
have completed comprehensive training courses in safe driving, customer
service, and assisting persons with special needs.  
* Pre-booking of 4-door sedans, mini-vans or Wheelchair Accessible Taxis
is not required; simply inform the BC Corps Commissionaires (stationed
at the taxi queue area on the curb and roadway).  
* Taxis charge a metered rate based on time and distance traveled, the
approximate fare to downtown Vancouver is $23-$26 CAD (inclusive of all
taxes) under normal conditions.  

LIMOUSINES - Limojet Gold Express provides exclusive limousine service
from the airport 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Limojet Gold
Express can be contacted at 604-273-1331 for further information.  
* Limousines are conveniently located immediately outside the Domestic
and International arrivals areas.
* The L Series can comfortably seat 1-3 passengers with plenty of leg
room & trunk space.  Sedan rates between YVR airport & downtown
Vancouver is $39 CAD+GST, per vehicle.  
* The luxury stretch limousine can comfortably seat 1-6 passengers with
luggage.  Stretch Limousine rate between YVR airport & downtown is $45
CAD+GST, per vehicle.  

AIRPORTER - The Airporter provides shuttle service to major hotels in
downtown Vancouver.

Departure times from the airport:
* International Terminal - every 30 minutes from 8:20 to 21:45.
* Domestic Terminal - every 30 minutes from 8:25 to 21:50.

The Airporter shuttle bus is located on the International and Domestic
Arrivals level curb.  No reservations required.  Tickets may be
purchased at the Airporter counter, their pickup locations, or on board
the motor coach.  

Fares (One-Way):  Adult $13.50 CAD (inclusive of all taxes)
