Hi Everyone: The following message is being sent on behalf of Ted Olsen, Chair, 2009 IEEE-SA Awards and Recognition Committee. Nominations are open for the 2009 International Award through 31 May. The IEEE Standards Association Awards Committee is seeking nominations for the 2009 IEEE Standards Association International Award. This award is presented to an IEEE Standards Association individual member who has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the international goals of the IEEE Standards Association. Recognition of the IEEE Standards Association as a developer of standards for world-wide implementation can be sought in many ways. Inclusion of international factors in a standard, successively promoting IEEE Standards in an international forum, establishing closer relationships with international standards bodies are but examples of the efforts being made on behalf of the IEEE Standards Association. The International Award is to recognize an IEEE Standards Association member who, whatever the venue, has excelled in this endeavor. The award, which consists of a crystal sculpture and certificate, will be presented at the IEEE Standards Association Awards Ceremony on Sunday, 6 December 2009, at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The deadline for nominations is 31 May 2009.
