Re: [STDS-802-16] IEEE 802 Session 67 - Gentle reminder about the last date for paying the registration fees at discounted rate

Dear Dan,
Applying for a tourist visa is really an option. Also, if requested, we can issue an modified invitation letter stating the duration of the visa as suggested to me by Roger along with the CEWiT registration certificate, which you can submit along with the application.

Roger, Klutto,

Thank you for validating the Indian conference visa issue. Someone knowledgeable in the subject issue has advised me to apply for a tourist visa and that’s what I did today. My “plan” is to tour Bangalore and Chennai and possibly the Taj Mahal J.

Best regards,

Dan

Dan,

My visa agent also told me that a Conference Visa is impossible. He suggested that I apply for a Business Visa.

He also said that the invitation letter I received will not be accepted because it does not specify the duration of the visa. I went back and looked up the requirements for the letter. It says:

Sponsor Letter From Organization in India: Include a letter from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead indicating the nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited, and a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses.

I'll ask the hosts to send me an updated letter. Perhaps they'll be able to assist others who are having the same difficulty.

Roger

Klutto,

Just to let you know that I am not likely to be able to get a visa to India anytime soon. The company that handles our passport and visa services – CIBT – has told me that neither a business visa, nor a conference visa would be granted to me, because your invitation letter is to a Conference and I (or anyone else for that matter) cannot comply with the Indian Government requirements as listed in the attached document (items 8 through 11).

Can you please share my concern with other folks and find out how others handle the visa issue?

I also have an issue with my Israeli Birth Certificate. The Indian government requires an authenticated document. I don’t think I can do that anytime soon.

Anyway, if all else fails, you may want to stop my meeting fee payment transaction, if it has not gone through already.

Best regards,

Dan.

Dear All,
This is a gentle reminder that the last date and time is April 16, 18.00.00 IST (only a day left), respectively for paying the registration fee for the Session 67 meeting in Bangalore. Please pay it online. If you face any difficulty in making the payment online send the filled in registration form available at  http://www.cewit.org.in/ieeesession67/session67_reg.doc on or before the cut-off date to get the early bird registration advantage at INR 20000. After the above mentioned cut-off date the fee will be at INR 25000.

Also, please note that we have already sent the payment received confirmation by email to all those who have paid online. Those who have sent the registration details by email/FAX will get the confirmation only after the amount is charged from your credit card.

If anybody did not receive the payment confirmation from klutto@cewit.org.in or geordie@cewit.org.in, write to me with the first and last three digits of your credit card.

Regards
klutto
