Dear 802.16 Members, As you recall, the 802.16 Working Group has been without a Vice Chair since we had no candidate in the March elections. Harry Bims has notified me (see below) that he would like to stand for election as 802.16 Working Group Vice Chair. Per the IEEE 802.16 Working Group Officer Election Process, "Sometimes, such as in the case of unexpired vacancies, special elections may be required... The special election shall be announced to the Working Group as soon as possible after the need to hold one is identified." The presence of a candidate indicates the need to schedule the special election. Per the WG Officer Election Process: *the election will be scheduled for the Working Group Opening Plenary meeting of Session #82, on 12 November (in the 1:30-3:30 PM slot). *Candidates are encouraged to declare their candidacy via the Working Group email reflector, as soon as possible before the election. The names of those eligible who declare their candidacy at least eight days before the scheduled election shall be included on the paper ballot.
