According to the IEEE 802 Working Group Policies and Procedures (WG P&P), the "term for all WG officers ends at the close of the first plenary session of each even numbered year." Consequently, elections were held during Session #90 in March 2014. However, attendance at Session #90 was low, and the IEEE 802 EC deferred confirmation of the elections until July 2014. Per the WG P&P, "A WG may elect a new Chair or Vice Chair at any plenary session, subject to confirmation by the IEEE 802 LMSC Sponsor." At the WG meeting of 2014-05-08, the WG approved a motion as follows: "Considering the low attendance at Session #90, to schedule and announce elections for WG Chair and Vice Chair, for the term ending in March 2016, to be held at Session #92 (2014-07-14)." As stated in the IEEE 802.16 Working Group Officer Election Process, "Candidates are encouraged to declare their candidacy, in a Working Group meeting or via the Working Group email reflector, as soon as possible before the election. The names of those eligible who declare their candidacy at least eight days before the scheduled election shall be included on the paper ballot." Per the procedures, these elections will be on the agenda for the Session #92 Opening Plenary meeting, which is scheduled for the afternoon of Monday 14 July 2014. According to the IEEE 802 Working Group Policies and Procedures, the Chair and Vice Chair elections are subject to IEEE 802 EC confirmation. IEEE 802 has policies on endorsement and affiliation letters in conjunction with confirmation. More information is available at <http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/secmail/msg17013.html>.
