The decision to select this site was made on 17 March 2005 based on the host's site selection proposal checklist and slides. An update was provided on 17 Nov 2005.
Schedule

Currency
On 7 November 2005, the Indian is rupee (INR) traded at approximately 48 per $US dollar and 54 per Euro; you can check the current exchange rate here. Airlines, department stores, hotels and most restaurants accept international credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club.
Climate
New Delhi is the capital of India and situated on the banks of river Yamuna in the northern part of India. Once a part of the Aravalies, today Delhi has only the Ridge area to tell the story of the greenery this place once had. The Himalayas are to the North of Delhi. Agra, where the Taj Mahal is located, is a day trip away.
In January, Delhi's average high temperature is 21C. The average low is 7C. The winters are marked by mist and fog in the mornings, usually clearing away by the afternoon.
Electrical Power
India's electricity is supplied at 220V and 50Hz, the same as in Europe. Most electrical outlets are 3-pin plugs, with most modern hotels having provision for several international plug types. It is safer to bring adapters and transformers. Power supplies with universal sockets will be supplied in the meeting rooms.
