IEEE 802.16 Password Protection
IEEE 802.16 maintains a private, password-protected area of its web site. The password is provided to the 802.16 Working Group's Members and Observers. The Information stored there is for their private use only. Members and Observers who need to consult with a colleague regarding an private document must provide the document only, not the password, notifying the colleague that the document is not to be provided to anyone else. The password is not be be shared.
Nearly all of the IEEE 802.16 documentation is available without a password. The private area typically includes the following types of information:
- Draft Standards
- IEEE requires that Draft Standards carry the IEEE copyright notice. Drafts will be posted to the IEEE 802.16 password-protected web site for access by 802.16 Working Group Members and Observers. Documents under Working Group Letter Ballot or IEEE LMSC Sponsor Ballot are considered Draft Standards.
IEEE 802.16 intends that all copyrighted drafts be readily available for purchase from IEEE. Please see the detailed list of available IEEE 802.16 standards and drafts. See also the IEEE 802 Drafts for Sale page.
- Liaison Documents
- In some cases, organizations offer documents to IEEE 802.16 under the condition that they be made available only to Members and Observers. Such documents must not be shared with anyone.
- Member and Observer Contact Database
- This includes the email address and telephone numbers of the Members and Observers.
