All, here is my recommended approach for developing a list of definitions
agreed to by our working group, and slated for inclusion in our standard:
Before starting a whole flurry of motions, we ought to have at least one
person attempt to put forward an entire list of definitions and have the
definitions uploaded on our web site, requesting comments from the working
group on the reflector. Based on evaluating the comments, a second edition
should be posted by the initial editor. At a subsequent 802.17 meeting, we
should have a motion to approve all of the non-contentious definitions, and
then we can have individual motions to resolve ones that we cannot come to
unanimous agreement on in advance. I certainly hope that we will not have
to separately vote on too many definitions. The best way of coming up with
unanimous agreement on definitions is for individuals that disagree to
directly communicate with each other in an attempt to develop wording for a
definition that everyone can agree with.

correction
| for the OAM&P term that we used in one of the "approved" objectives last
week.

| According to ITU-T M.3020 "TMN INTERFACE SPECIFICATION METHODOLOGY",
OAM&P
| stands for Operations, Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning.
|
| Do we need a motion for adding the comma between the words Operations and
| Administration? Currently, the objective is:
| "The 802.17 RPR standard should support Operations Administration,
Maintenance
| and Provisioning (OAM&P)"
|
| Also, do we have a compiled list of terms that we need to define?
