I would like a slot to present and discuss my simulation model and my
simulation results in more depth than is possible in plenum.
I have written a model of the rpr ring in Java, and it is a simple,
self-contained Java program that everyone can get and play with if they
like (and know Java).
So far I have implemented the dual rings, two set of buffers (high
priority and low priority). It would be easy to include more buffers
for more priorities.
The cable length between the nodes and the bandwidth of the cables are set
by parameters. Application loads and statistics are gathered by writing
simple Java methods.
I would also like input from the group on how to best extend my model
and results.
Depending upon how much time we have in our special group meeting, I
would like from 30 to 60 minutes.
