Hi everybody,
Several people indicated that just having a couple
of evening sessions is not enough for us to make good progress with all the
performance related work that the performance committee signed up to do. I
agree. As we had discussed last time, it looks like we'll need something like 10
hours of meeting time for the group to be able to do the required work and make
good progress.
Now, we can't work in parallel with any other adhoc
groups at this time, since no other ones exist.
Also, people have indicated that they don't want to
have the performance committee meetings in parallel with the main 802.17 WG
meetings which they want to participate in as well. Then, we also know that the
WG has a lot of work on its agenda and is unlikely to have an empty day for us
to use. If an empty afternoon becomes available, we'll be sure to grab
it!
So, we have some options to handle the
situation:
We'll probably need some combination of these
options since none of them alone will add up to the 10 hours needed.
I'd like to get a sense for the preference of
interested participants.
Please send me an e-mail ordering the options with
your preference priority (starting with your top preference).
Feel free to make any comments, but make sure to
include your preference priority. PLEASE don't assume that I'll extract your
preference out of your comments.
If you feel that you want to express an opinion and
make it known to everybody (as part of discussing this), feel free to respond on
the reflector. If not, you can just e-mail your preference priority directly to
me.
If you don't send any indication, the assumption
would be either:
Thanks.
