[RPRWG] Clause 7 text
I have submitted a comment against draft 0.1 to remove all of the existing
Clause 7 text (MAC physical interface) and to replace it with alternate
text, in an attempt to get a more complete and consistent description of the
reconciliation sublayers and PHYs for RPR. Since the change is rather
substantial, the new text is available for preview on the March 2002
Presentations web page as clause7_proposal.pdf. Although I don't believe
there are any contentious issues in the revised text, I encourage you to
review it so that you will be prepared with any concerns for next week's
comment resolution sessions. One note--only the 1000BASE-SX and -LX optical
gigabit Ethernet PHYs are included. I have not had any requests to support
copper PHYs.
