Slight correction. While what you write was correct for D0.2, the approved
changes for D0.3 change this to a) reflect that more than the first 2 bytes
are header, and b) the second byte of the header now contains a 2 bit value
for Packet Type with values of:
1 - control
2 - fairness
3 - data

Tony,

As per P802.17/D0.2, the first 2 bytes of the RPR
frame constitute a header.  Within this header, 3
bits are used to indicate the frame type.  
Current values include:
3 - steering only data
4 - protection control
5 - control
6 - fairness
7 - data
