[RPRWG] FAH (RAH, or whatever) FRIDAY meeting minutes
Attendees:
- Necdet
- David
- Anoop
- Med
Meeting Minutes:
- Current Draft assumes resetting credits to loLimit, when
no packets are waiting, as a property of shaper.
- We identified only A and B shapers require this functionality
(i.e. credit resetting to loLimit when no packets are waiting).
- In a cut-thru implementation, a mechanism (e.g. delay timer)
can be used to determine "a packet is waiting"
- Identified that a visible time limit on the order of an MTU
can be used
- work need to be done to determine the exact bounds of this
timer(s)
- Discussed the comments against shaperM and markFE. These
issues where resolved by the CRG.
However, they were brought for sake of thoroughness /completeness.
Next Meeting Date and Time:
- Thursday April 10, 9:00-10:00 PST
- Friday April 17, 10:00-12:00 PST
Not to flood the reflector, the Dial-in information and
Presentation material for upcoming meetings,
will be sent to the participants
(on the mailing list).
People interested in this adhoc, please send me an e-mail.
Cheers
Med

Subject: FAH (RAH, or whatever) meeting FRIDAY
All,
At the last meeting, we authorized an ad-hoc to resolve
how Clause 6 rate limiting relies on knowledge of the
client queue (empty or not), so that credits do not
accumulate when the client has nothing to send.
Ways to obtain the functionality without cost burdens
and/or link-standard changes are desired.
The following key participants were identified, but
anyone is welcome to attend:
David James
Necdet Uzun
Med Belhabj
The first meeting will be:
Date: Friday, April 04, 2003
Start Time: 10:00:00 AM Pacific Std Time
End Time: 12:00:00 PM Pacific Std Time
Dial-in Number: 1-267-295-6500 (Philadelphia, PA)
Participant Access Code: 80217404
While we recognize this is late and unfortunate timing,
its good to start scoping the work. The expected follow-on
meeting would be:
2003Apr10 9:00-10:00 PST, number to be announced.
Of course, this timing may change depending on what is
discussed tomorrow.
