Fairness frames are sent across an edge only for their keepalive
function. This enables neighbors to determine which links are currently
functional, independent of official span status.
RPR
rings can be connected together through standard 802 MAC bridging, and through
other means not addressed by 802.

possible to connect several RPR rings together in a network ?
