IEEE 802: Meeting Information Update Memo - 5th Announcement
Date: Wednesday, July 7, 2004
Subj: Important IEEE 802 July 2004 Plenary Session Updates

An On Site Web Portal is available for all attendees of the IEEE 802
July 2004 Plenary Session. Please bookmark this website and check it
daily for any updates. The latest Agenda, the List of Tutorials & Call
for Interests, Hotel Floor Plans, and "Items of Breaking News" will all
be posted at:
http://register.facetoface-events.com/ieee802/attendee

Due to the necessity of holding meetings at both the Portland Hilton and
the Embassy Suites for this Plenary Session, we have arranged for a
shuttle to run between the two properties on a continuous basis. The
shuttle will run from 8 am until 10pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
On Friday it will run from 8am until 7pm. On Wednesday, the shuttle
will run between the Hilton and Embassy Suites from 8am until 6:30pm
with additional transportation from both hotels to the social starting
at 6pm. Additional information on the shuttle, as well as other public
transportation options is on the IEEE 802 On-Site Website.

The Portland Hilton, the Embassy Suites, and the Heathman were ALL SOLD
OUT. However, both the Hilton and the Embassy Suites have had some late
cancellations. If you don't have a room reserved yet, or if you have
your name on an IEEE 802 Wait-List, please contact the Portland Hilton
(503-226-1611) and/or the Embassy Suites (503-279-9000) to check for
current availability.

Because July is High Season in Portland and there are now very few rooms
available downtown, the Portland Oregon Visitors Association (POVA) has
provided the link below, which contains information on many local hotels
and gives you the ability to make room reservations via the web. Please
note that IEEE 802 HAS NOT confirmed group rates at these additional
locations, however many will still offer corporate or web discount rates
if available. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact
Face to Face Events, Inc. at 408-241-8906 or send an e-mail to:
802info@ieee.org

For these additional hotel options click on:

Web Registration for this Plenary Session is STILL available !!! If you
plan on attending this Plenary Session and have not yet registered, save
yourself the time of waiting in long lines to register On-Site. Please
register for this session at:
http://www.ieee802.org/meeting/NextPlenary.html

Registered attendees for the July 2004 Plenary Session will need to go
to the correct location to pick up their name badge and Meeting
Information. Attendees that chose IEEE 802.1, .3, or .17 as their
Primary Working Group need to stop by the IEEE 802 Registration Desk
(Club Room 1912) at the Embassy Suites to gather these materials.
Attendees that chose IEEE 802.11/.15/.16/.18/.19/.20/.21 or none need to
go to the IEEE 802 Registration Desk (Plaza Foyer) at the Hilton
Portland. Both Registration Desks will be open Sunday from 5-8pm and
Monday through Thursday from 7:30am - 5pm.

Session Registration: Any individual who attends any part of a meeting
that is a scheduled part of an 802 Plenary Session must register for the
