FYI, a new project in P1900. Steve -----Original Message----- From: owner-stds-pdr@ieee.org [mailto:owner-stds-pdr@ieee.org] On Behalf Of John Chapin Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2006 11:12 AM To: stds-pdr@ieee.org Subject: IEEE 1900: draft v2 of study group charter At Thursday evening's plenary, IEEE 1900 voted to approve the proposed study project on dependability and evaluation of regulatory compliance, subject to sponsor approval. The study group charter is subject to continued updating until the committee as a whole reaches consensus. Steve says he intends to have all study groups managed at the IEEE 1900 level rather than out of the working groups, at least for now, so this document is now numbered p1900/1.0 rather than p1900.3/1.0. (Steve, is this a good number?) This coming week thursday 3/16, Steve will be meeting with the EMC sponsor committee and he would like to ask for their approval. Therefore we have a short-term deadline to get a version of the study charter together that we are comfortable having them review. The charter will continue to be open for updates afterwards. I've revised the draft to respond to all the comments received both by email and in the plenary meeting (*). Thank you everyone, I hope I captured your thoughts accurately. If you would like to see further updates before this goes to the sponsor committee, please send them to me by COB Tuesday. (*) Mark Scoville sent a long comments message thursday but I haven't had a chance to speak to him yet regarding what concrete actions are needed to respond to his comments. John Dr. John M.
