[802.19] 6Oct08 Conference Call Actions
Title: 6Oct08 Conference Call Actions
On our call today we reviewed 11-08-1101-04 and agreed that the approach is reasonable and the real work is in determining the non-802.11 radio scan criteria. The proposed version in 1101-04 may be too specific while the current overlapping BSS scan in Draft 7.0 does not seem to be specific enough to detect the types of radios 802.11n devices should be able to detect. We decided to continue the discussion with this email list.
Questions:
- Is a simple energy detection requirement sufficient?
- What is the potential for false positives?
- Are there low cost methods that can be used to detect presence of Bluetooth (802.15.1), 802.15.4, and other radios that deserve equal protection?
Please propose answers and any other issues in the next two weeks before out next call.
Regards, John
