[802.19] Wireless Automotive Coexistence Study Group

Dear all,

I would like to share with the recent updates regarding the wireless automotive coexistence activities under IEEE802.19 WG. The IEEE Executive Committee has approved the formation of a study group with the name wireless automotive coexistence (Doc: IEEE802.19-16/0065r0), The study group target and scope are defined in the document (Doc.: IEEE802.19-16/0010r2). The press release on the new study group is attached.

The study group duration is eight months, in our case we have to finalize the results by November, 2016. The study group should output two documents PAR (Project Authorization Request) and CSD (criteria for standards development), PAR and CSD examples from 802.11ax HEW study group are in the attachment. General information about the study group under IEEE standardization are also attached.

I will be chairing the study group and Igal Kotzer (GM) will be the Vice Chair, the secretary position is still open, if anyone is interested, please let me know.

We have two planned teleconferences in April:

5^th April, 09:00 AM EDT

26^th April, 09:00 AM EDT

For the teleconference on 5th of April, we still don’t have any submission, if anyone has a submission please let me know, otherwise I will cancel the call.

For the teleconference on 26th of April, we have two planned submission from:

· Michael Schwaiger (BMW AG) on the WLAN for inductive charging, new interference source in the automotive domain

· Dr. Florian Pfeiffer (Perisens GmbH) and Bernd Napholz (Daimler) on the mutual Influence of Concurrent IEEE 802.11 Networks in an Automotive Environment
