Subject: [STDS-802-11] Registering for the Jan 2017 IEEE 802 Wireless session
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.11 participants,
If you registered for the 802 Wireless session in Atlanta:
1. The registration form asks you to use the same email as for your web account 2. The registration form asks you to enter your SA PIN (and provides a link to tell you how to find this out)
If you have done neither of these, and you are an 802.11 voter, you will not have a voting token on your badge.
This is because the identification of who is a voter is provided to the meeting planners as a list of voter emails and SA Pins.
If you turn up at the meeting and do not have an expected voter token, this is probably the reason. Based on a quick look at the registration data, this is about 10% of all registrants.
The meeting planners will inquire of the relevant chair the voting status of an attendee who claims to have a missing badge. The chair will eventually respond, and the meeting planners will eventually reprint the badge if a voting token is missing.
I put in "eventually" because the meeting planners and chairs will be busy at the start of the meeting, and will need to give priority to other matters. I also note that this is a situation of the individual's own making.
You can re-enter the registration page and correct a missing PIN (provided you can remember the
email and password you selected during registration). You would need
to do this asap, because the badges will be
bulk printed in a week or so's time. If you cannot remember your
password, you will need to email the meeting planners to perform a password reset first.
