With the P802.11ax draft recirculation ballot we have been again asked to vote on their CA document, now at revision 05.
This revised CA document does not address the matter of coexistence with 802.15 ultra-wide band (UWB) radios in the 6 to 7 GHz band, or even acknowledge the potential, (assuming the FCC regulations change to allow the 11ax radio operate in this band) for the 11ax operation in this band to disrupt these UWB radios operating in this band.
By not even mentioning any of the 802.15 standards specifying unlicensed UWB radios for operation in the 6 to 7 GHz band, the CA document clearly is not following the IEEE 802 LMSC OPERATIONS MANUAL requirement: "The CA document shall address coexistence with all relevant approved IEEE 802 LMSC wireless standards specifying devices for unlicensed operation"
Irrespective of which side of the debate you are on with respect to this matter, I would think that most of you would agree that in its current state the CA document does not fulfill its required purpose, and as such I would urge you all to do as I have done and vote in this ballot to DISAPPROVE of this CA document. I attach my comments for your reference. Thank you.
Billy.
