Dear 802.18 members,
cc 802.11, 802.15, and 802.19 members,

On 29 March 2023, Australia ACMA began a consultation "Draft Five-year spectrum outlook 2023~28" that seeks public opinion on its proposed focus areas from 2023 to 2028.

Of possible interest is the 6 GHz band, where the ACMA may target Q2 2024 for consultation on the upper 6 GHz band and explores the possibility of implementing any spectrum sharing technologies (e.g., AFC) for either higher-power RLAN devices in the lower 6 GHz band or explore the feasibility of using AFC for the upper 6 GHz band (for details, please refer to page 45 and 68 of the paper, respectively).

Another possible interest is the THz band (c.f., page 23 of the paper) but the ACMA does not include the band in its spectrum management band planning.

For details, please visit:

The comment submission deadline is 28 April 2023.  If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to submit a response to this consultation, please bring a submission to IEEE 802.18 to consider no later than 3pm ET, Thursday, 13 April 2023.

Thanks and Regards,
Edward
