Dear 802.18 participants,
cc. 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 participants,
On 25 August 2024, Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) launched a public consultation on its position paper entitled "Position Paper on IoT and M2M in the State of Qatar".
As per my understanding of this draft position paper, the administration position Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz), Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Z-Wave as the same category of access technologies for local area networks (there is no mention about IEEE 802.11ah (sub 1 GHz), UWB, and Wi-SUN though). At the end of the position paper, there are a few questions including potential adjustments to spectrum plan (c.f., Question 6) and interoperability standards (c.f., Question 7) that you may be interested in considering preparing a response.
For details, please visit:
https://www.cra.gov.qa/en/document/position-paper-on-iot-and-m2m-in-the-state-of-qatarThe original submission date is 2 September 2024 but the administration can accept an IEEE 802 LMSC's submission no later than the extended deadline of 26 September 2024. If you would like IEEE 802 LMSC to submit a response, please bring a contribution to IEEE 802.18 to review and consider approval no later than Tuesday, 10 September during the opening meeting of the IEEE 802.18 wireless interim session.
Thanks and Regards,
Edward
