At the moment there is a link hints catalogue within DNA which looked at
existing technologies and their 'upper layer available' indications.
This was deliberately non-exhaustive, and will miss out on having
802.21 specifications in it. I believe that some people working on that
document may have made submissions to 802.21 before.
It would be good to see what in that document is seen as valuable to
802.21, and what isn't applicable.
I agree that there could be IETF documents describing 802.21 input
to L3 (I'm interested in IPv6, there may be IPv4 interest too).
We'd have to talk to our Area directors and WG members to see if
it was appropriate to do this just in DNA. Depending on the richness
of features in 802.21, other working groups may have to be involved,
too.
It may be that a 'link-indications DNA using 802.21' document for
DNA would be useful.
