Ajoy,
Ajoy-> Yes, I agree that we talked about creating a reference model. But I think before we start creating a reference model, we have to understand what kinds of information we are planning to exchange using L3 MIH protocol. Unless we know the kinds of information, it is difficult to say if MIH entity should be located at AP, AR or any other host on the network. Also, we may not be able to agree how the messages should be exchanged.
It was evident that we do not have a
Ajoy-> I agree. I did raise this issue during second conference call, but I guess we still decided to go to IETF without cooking up our requirements.
The purpose of tomorrow's call is to discuss this in details

Ajoy-> This is exactly I am afraid of. See if we start discussing all possible scenarios then we will never be able to focus on selected few that is really important. That is why I am proposing that all of us come up with a scenario model that they think is important and make a case for that. Finally based on concensus we can decide what should be the final reference architecture.
I agree with you that we need to discuss the information elements as well before creating the requirements.
Ajoy-> Yup
Ajoy-> Please see my earlier comments.
Hi Subir et al,
Your scenarios are quite similar to what have been discussed earlier. What are we trying to achieve out of next conference call? I would suggest first let us discuss various information elements that we would like L3 protocol to carry before we can dive into protocol requirements. The choice of protocol will heavily depend upon the type of information we want to exchange using MIH protocol. Also, I am not sure producing all permutations and combinations of protocol scenarios will enable us to achieve our goal. It is unlikely that we can design a protocol that will cover all possible scenarios that we can think of.
