Re: [802.21] Operator ID assignment in 802.16
IEEE is a sector member of the ITU.
But, certainly the IEEE is a non-traditional venue for such administration.
But this has been looked at very closely. You might want to talk with people
in your own organization who were very much consulted on this decision.
But, as I say, it is not like 802.16 was presented with an abundance of
choices.
