Re: [802.21]

Dear Adnan,

Thanks for your feedback. Actually I have gone through all 3 drafts  discussed at monami6 as well as draft-montavont-mobileip-mmi-01.txt too.
Most of these drafts talks about the scenarios and need one draft gives the option too but not solution.
Actually i am under process of writing a draft for the solutions keeping few assumption in mind. I belive it should be use full for VHO and MIH implementation.
Where we need to serve multiple address on multiple interfaces.

Hello Anurag,

I agree with you that assigning a single Home Address to a multi interfaced node is more advantageous than using multiple Home Addresses. This is due to the fact that applications don't need to know the multiplicity of the Home Addresses.
There is an internet draft http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-monami6-multiplecoa-02.txt <https://owa1.brunel.ac.uk/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-monami6-multiplecoa-02.txt>  that discusses multiple Care-of-Addresses Registration with a single Home Address. A Binding Unique Identification Number is used to identify different care of addresses.

However, keep in mind that it is still an ietf draft and hasn't become a standard.

Kind regards,
Adnan K. Kiani

Subject: [802.21] Home Address

Dear All,

Greetings.

This is regarding multiple home address for a single end held device. I have read few drafts on Analysis of Multihoming and issues also. Couldn't catch up all the discussion at Mip6 mailing list  regarding that too. I would like to know, What is the solution we have taken up for HoA (Home Address) for multiple Interfaces of a single device.
I would like to know if any thing come as a standard? As implementation wise there is no issue to keep one address as HoA for All the interfaces of Multi interface device. If there is no std. till now, I still feel keeping multiple Home address for a single device is not a wise idea? --Pls comment on this??

Regards
