802.21 Members, I am happy to announce that things are now in place for us
to start using the New Document Control System. This is the same system that is currently being used by
802.11 and 802.15 WGs. Below are few instructions as to how to get started. [1] Please obtain an IEEE Web Account. If you don’t have it already please obtain an IEEE Web
Account. The attached document describes how to obtain a free Web Account. You would need an IEEE Web Account for Attendance as well. [2] We have added all the current 802.21 members who have an
IEEE Web Account to the roster for using the Document Control system. You can start using the new system by using the following
link: Login using your IEEE Web Account and then you can directly go to the 802.21
Documents page: <New Document System> http://mentor.ieee.org/mentor/wiki/StartPage I have added this link to our main 802.21 web page to access
the new document system just below the link for old tree as well. [3] In case you are not on the roster and cannot use the New
Document Control System, you can request to join 802.21 Document control System by going to this link: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/join
There is a link for this in the main 802.21 page as well. I (along with some other admins)
will then get an email which tells us that the person has applied to
join. We shall then approve the requests
and grant you access. [4] Once you have access you can then go to the Documents
section. Please refer to attached file 21-08-0005-00-0000-Document_Naming_Convention
for document naming conventions and examples. As members you can upload new documents and revise existing
documents. The system automatically allocates DCNs. Please look at the attached file carefully for naming
documents for the two Study Groups (file code “mrpm” for MRPM SG
and file code “0sec” for Security SG.). At this time please feel free to use the system and upload documents
for Jan meeting. [5] Old Documents until year 2007. The old tree currently holds all documents until year 2007
for now. All documents starting with year 2008 should be uploaded to
the new system (including those for Jan Taipei meeting). After the Jan meeting I shall work with Administrators and
transfer all previous 802.21 WG documents for all the prior years to the new
system and then we can do away with the old tree. We shall have a teleconference this week and we can talk
more about how to use the system then. Many thanks to Rob Nagler for helping out with this. Please let me know if you have any questions. Kind Regards -Vivek |
