All The request for two new Study Groups (Emergency Services
Study Group and Handovers between Broadcast Technologies Study Group) was
Approved by the 802 EC. I would like to appoint Burak Simsek as the Chair of the Handover
between Broadcast Technologies Study Group. Burak initiated this activity within 802.21 and has been
leading it right from start. The agenda for the May meeting will include slots for Handover
between Broadcast Technologies Study Group. Please plan appropriately. For the Emergency Services Study Group I need to check with
the existing candidates as few issues seem to have come up and would get back
later on Chair announcement. Best Regards -Vivek From: "Zuniga, Juan Carlos" <JuanCarlos.Zuniga@InterDigital.com> To: " Subject: RE: [802.21] News from 802 EC Closing Meeting on

afternoon Subir Das was confirmed as the Vice Chair of the 802.21 WG. The two existing Study Groups (Security SG and MRPM SG)
received approval to be extended until July-2008 Plenary meeting: The EC meeting had a lot of agenda items and the meeting was
running late by more than an hour: Hence LMSC Chair, Paul Nikolich requested that we push
certain items to the EC email ballot. As such the formation of two new 802.21 SGs (Emergency
Services and Handover with Broadcast Technologies) was pushed to email ballot. Stay tuned for more updates on these items. Best Regards -Vivek |
