The following comments were received from
802.20 WG today. The Security SG should plan on addressing
these. Best Regards -Vivek From: Klerer, Mark
[mailto:mklerer@qualcomm.com] Hi Vivek, The 802.20 WG has reviewed the IEEE 802.21 PAR for Security Extensions
and has three comments as suggested improvements for that PAR. 1. The Scope states the work builds on the 802.21 standard. The
standard is not yet approved. Therefore it would seem that the standard is
dependent upon the completion of the 802.21 standard and such dependency should
be so noted in section 5.3. 2. If possible, improve/enhance the Purpose statement as it should be
more distinct and separate from the Scope. (Per NesCom conventions) 3. The use of “signaling” in the Scope can be confusing and should be
dropped for the sentence. If we understand the scope correctly the objective is
to “reduce the latency of authentication and key establishment”. Regards, Mark Klerer |
