From: Colleagues, The common understanding was that the
initial MRPM group was launched with support from folks in 802.11 working on
multi radio paging. [VG] 802.16 is also a component of this. Under advice from the chair, that original
work was discontinued. [VG] There was no such advice and I am not sure if this has
been discontinued. The PAR is not very clear on this as well. The Study Group needs to decide what it wants to do. The new work going on now is quite
distinct from that, but unfortunately, the old group name and PAR schedule was
preserved. Perhaps that is why the EC has been tolerant, since the new group
and its new work are really different from the older work. [VG] Just not clear what’s being said here. The 802EC
is not aware of any such things. They will evaluate the PAR on its merits. Best Regards, Michael From: ext Gupta, Vivek G
[mailto:vivek.g.gupta@INTEL.COM] Multi-Radio Power Management related
presentations/discussions have been going on in 802.21 for almost two years. The MRPM SG was created in July-2007. Motions to approve the PAR produced by this group failed on
two occasions in Jan-2008 and in March-2008. Thereafter this group has gone ahead and done further work.
The latest PAR from this group is now available at: http://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0250-06-mrpm-par-for-mrpm.doc Below are instructions for WG LB-3 which asks the question
to approve this PAR and forward it to 802EC for consideration at the Nov-08
